I am hoping that this blog will be able to spark my creativity while writing, and help me communicate better with my writing buddies instead of scrolling through many nano messages, not remembering what I said to whom.
One of my goals for this blog is to post a section of my "best" writing every day. I'll be updating my word count ON A DAILY BASIS (God help me), but I think also posting my sections of my NaNo novel will give me energy to move forward.
I will warn anyone who will be reading my blog: I intend to make full use of the best NaNo tip I discovered on the forums. The great and wonderful use of strikeout text. Like most writers, I'll probably write paragraphs that completely diverge from the main storyline and describe this hilarious joke that, *ahem* only I'll find funny. BUT I WILL NOT DELETE IT! I will simply strikeout the whole paragraph, telling myself that I will remove it later. But the word count will still be reached for that day! It's bloody brilliant and I'm doing it. Hah.
To prepare for the upcoming Saturday, I'll be meeting up with a local writing buddy and having lunch! What better way to start a novel than with a smiling face, tea, and sandwiches?
I have a drop-box account with my full story outline ready to go, character profiles, story history, and the intro to my story planned. So to help any other first timers that might still be freaking out because they haven't planned anything for their novel, I will be awesome and share the novel "plot-line" that I shamelessly found on the internet:
ACT 1
1) Opening conflict
2) Protagonist shown in daily life, before the transformation
3) Opportunity for change
4) Resistance to the opportunity
5) Point of no return - opportunity accepted
ACT 2
6) Entering into the new situation
7) Meeting friends, enemies, romance, transformative experiences. Opportunities for change!
8) Problem brings them together
9) Problem drives them apart
10) Crisis hits!
ACT 3
11) Terrible secret revealed or attack starts
12) All seems lost
13) Self-sacrifice or symboloic death
14) Final showdown
15) Conclusion - Wed or dead
So good luck to everyone for NaNoWriMo 2014!!!!!! !
